- arrival in Prague -  an ancient  European city renowned  for its beauty and unique wealth of historical

sights, the capital of the Czech Republic . Prague lies in the very heart of Bohemia. The town  - originally

founded in the 10^th century on the banks of the Vltava River is often called „golden „ or „hundred- spired

 It is the real treasury of arts and architecture of all styles.

- individual transfers to  4star hotel Barcelo Old Town in the Old Town of Prague  

- evening  walking tour of the Old Town of Prague - passing the Old Town  Square with famous

  astronomical   clock, walk through busy shopping Paris Street close to the the former Jewish Ghetto

  of  Prague  and walk cross the  historical Charles  Bridge overlooking the panorama of the Prague  Castle

- welcome dinner at  local restaurant 

MARCH 14, 2010 - SUNDAY

PRAGUE

- morning at leisure

- afternoon halfday city tour of Prague -  explore the capital of the Czech Republic during  guided 

sightseeing tour of Prague and visit the Prague Castle with famous St. Vitus Cathedral,  picturesque

Golden Lane and Gothic Vladislav Hall, continue to historical Lesser Town area  and finish the tour

 in the Old  Town 

MARCH 15, 2010 - MONDAY

PRAGUE – KARLOVY VARY - PRAGUE  

- buffet-breakfast at the hotel

- fullday excursion to Karlovy Vary - the best known spa resprt in the Czech Republic. The Bohemian

  King and Holy Roman Emperor, Charles IV, gave his  name to this town in the 14^th century.  Spa treatment

  in  Karlovy Vary is based on the local thermal springs. The mineral waters are used for drinking cures and

  baths for treatment of diseases  of  the digestive system  and metabolic disorders

- walking tour of the spa-area and its colonades 

- time at leisure for individual sightseeing or  spa-experiences 

- return to Prague in the late afternoon

MARCH 16, 2010 – TUESDAY

PRAGUE  - NIZBOR – KARLSTEJN – PRAGUE 

- buffet-breakfast at the hotel

- visit to Nizbor - Glassworks Nižbor

  (one of the three former glassworks of the Ruckl family) is a part of Antonín Ruckl and Sons Ltd. which

   was established 150 years ago. The Ruckls, the famous glass family, originated in the St. Gallen region of

   Switzerland  came to Bohemia in the beginning of the 18^th  century. The current range of glass production

   is made up of lead crystal items manufactured by manual  technologies for both hot shaped glass

   (blowing to wooden moulds) and decorated  glass (hand cutting  and polishing). The high quality of

   design as well as the workmanship on unique items has helped Nižbor  crystal to be selected as official

   state gifts for world  famous personalities like US President Bill Clinton,  Pope John Paul II or Queen

   Elizabeth II  of England

- tour of glassworks and with the unique opportunity to buy glass directly from the factory   

- lunch at typical countryside restaurant in Karlstejn village

-continue for excursion to Karlstejn Castle – a  glorious example of medieval architecture built in the middle

  of 14^th century by Charles IV as a safe deposit for the crown jewels and important state documents. The castle

  was designed by the famous French architect Matthias of Arras. Part of the original furnishings and decorations

  can still be seen. The Chapel of Holy Cross is decorated with precious stones set in the wall and with the wood

  panelpaintings – work of Master Theodoric (middle of the 14^th century). The village itself is also worth a visit

  and the pisturesque surrounding countryside is ideal for walking tours.

- return to Prague in the  afternoon

- farewell  dinner at Bohemian  restaurant with folklore show incl. roundtrip transfer
